Refreshing, invigorating, thought provoking, empowering, humbling, saddening, inspiring…
“In Christ there is no East or West, In Him no South or North; but one great fellowship of love throughout the whole wide earth. In Him shall true hearts everywhere their high communion find; His service is the golden cord, close binding all mankind.”
The above words from an old hymn express my heart as I think about the week Scott and I spent in Mexico with hundreds of our colleagues from around the world. CRM has 450 long-term staff who live or serve in 70 countries — Serbia – Canada – England – Australia – Nigeria – Scotland – Guatemala – Hungary – Lebanon – Russia – Ukraine – Venezuela – Kenya – Korea – Cambodia – USA and on and on.
Our time together opened with greetings from CRM staff in 21 languages. 650 people gathered to celebrate The Movement of God — in us, among us, and through us. Especially inspiring were reports of spontaneous growth of the Gospel through the labors of CRM staff in the Middle East and Africa. The times of corporate worship were also a special treat for the two of us.
Almost Couldn’t Get Enough Visiting
Another highlight was spending time with dear friends who live and minister around the globe. Alice and Sean Collier (at right) serve the Lord in Cambodia. Alice headed up the morning prayer times for the conference. I was enriched by this time spent with my fellow interessors. Meal times offered opportunities to listen to and share stories of the ups and downs, and successes and failures in life and ministry. It was such a blessed time of loving on one another… sometimes overflowing in prayer together.
I didn’t crop this picture because I liked the fact that you can see people visiting all around us. Enjoying fellow believers is a foretaste of heaven. An example was the time we spent with our colleagues, Phil and Ruth Ann Alessi. They offer leadership for a Disciple Making Movement in the Indiana prison system and beyond.
Farewell for now
We are back in Baton Rouge for our Louisiana cycle and are engaging the work God has for us here. This picture was taken just after we finished an enjoyable excurision to Mayan ruins the day after conference.
Please receive our love and gratefulness for your interest in our lives and ministry.
Delores, for the two of us
