trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the
Lord our God”

Psalm 20:7

beautiful granddaughters on their 6th birthdays,
December 18.  God
granted us our heart’s desire and arranged it so we were able
to fly to Baton Rouge for a quickie trip for their SPECIAL DAY.
They had school on the 18th but we picked them
up for breakfast and after school for a movie and shopping.
How we love these little girls!

We also had time to
visit with friends and spend time with some of the staff from
Healing Place Church.  It
is always so exciting to see how God is at work at Healing

We will be on the road again
beginning tomorrow, January 2.
Scott’s mom had open heart surgery this past week.
We praise the Lord that this dear 79 year-old woman of
God and major prayer partner for our ministry has been given
more time to serve him on this earth.
We will drive two days to get to Oklahoma so we can serve
her when she returns home.

always at the beginning of a new year, I feel hopeful and like I
want to pick myself up, brush myself off, and start all over
again.  God is the
source of blessed hope to do just that.
The forgiveness and deep love of God our Father is seen
in these thought provoking words from C.S. Lewis.

“I know all about the despair of overcoming chronic temptations.
It is not serious, provided self-offended petulance,
annoyance at breaking records, impatience etc. don’t get the
upper hand.  No
of falls
will really undo us if we keep on picking ourselves up each
time.  We shall of course be very muddy and tattered children by
the time we reach home.  But
the bathrooms are all ready, the towels put out, and the clean
clothes in the airing cupboard.
The only fatal thing is to lose one’s temper and give
it up.  It is when
we notice the dirt that God is most present in us: it is the
very sign of His presence.”

Letters (20 January

With Him holding our hands we can face a new year with
peace and expectation that “with God all things are
